Countdown to Manual Scope Cleaning
Patient fluid or debris can dry onto the surface of an endoscope if
there's a 1-hour delay between bedside precleaning and manual
cleaning. When you tag your scopes with the One-Hour Indicator
before you take them to sterile processing, your techs can see how
much time has passed since post-procedure cleaning. Once you acti-
vate the self-looping label by pressing the blister on the strip, a safe
dye migrates along a one-hour display run-out window, which shows
elapsed time.
