Caped crusaders
They're both doing an amazing job. I love that I'm able to teach and
support them as they gain experience. If your cape is torn and tat-
tered like mine and you have an opportunity to mentor a new surgi-
cal leader, I encourage you to do so. Ours is a growing industry with
aging leadership. We need to find our replacements and nurture them
so that our legacy continues well on into the next generation. You
might be sewing patches on your cape, but those nurse leaders who
are new to managing a surgical facility need a mentor with good nee-
dle and thread to support them as they try their capes on for size.
