It's unknown how big of a splash 8K could make in the U.S., espe-
cially when many facilities are still adding 4K imaging. "When we
went from standard video to HD, we were amazed at the image quali-
ty," says Dr. Sherburne. "Now comparing 4K to high definition, you
think How did I ever use the old technology? I'm not sure that more
resolution will make a huge difference overall, but I'm sure imaging
systems will continue to evolve."
