every patient should receive the same preventative treatment, regardless of
risk factors. But limiting variability across caregivers and facilities would let
us track and identify the most effective treatments. A consistently applied
strategy that selects antiemetics based on a patient's risk factors, and dictates
which treatment to use when prophylaxis fails, would help to reduce the inci-
dence of PONV.
