• Worth a thousand words. Take step-by-step
pictures of how to assemble and attach OR table
accessories for different patient positioning needs,
and store them in an easily accessible folder on
your OR computers. These visual refreshers will
help speed room setup if staff haven't worked a
beach chair, spine frame or lateral shoulder case in
a while.
• Wheels are waiting. Once the case is done, make
sure your patient's stretcher is right where you left it
outside the OR, so as not to bottleneck throughput by
looking for transportation to recovery. Magnetic num-
bers that match stretchers to OR doors will keep
stretchers in use reserved for the patients inside.
