The parent that signs the con- sent forms gets a wristband that matches her child's band. When we go to the waiting room to call for a pediatric patient's parent, we know we're connecting with the right person and there are never any mix-ups in the recovery room. This has increased the safety of our pediatric patients and decreased our risk of violating HIPAA laws.
