we had forecast on either the attendee or exhibitor side, but not bad given the
conditions. And there was something about ORX that caught people's attention
right away. It was smart and lively. It was practical and edgy. It was fun, friendly
and fresh. Even the exhibit hall was a cool place to hang out, with exhibitors
pouring you wine one night and mixing your martinis the next. It was as if the
pages of Outpatient Surgery sprang to life for a few magical days. ORX has got-
ten bigger and better each year since.
As you'll see in the pages that follow, the sessions at this year's show at the
San Antonio Rivercenter will educate and motivate you like never before. As an
added bonus, we've added 3 3-hour morning workshops to this year's program
(see pages 4, 6 and 8 for course descriptions).
When you come to conferences, it's not just about the education or checking out
the latest products. You also want the opportunity to share ideas and learn from
your colleagues. At OR Excellence, we aim to give you the intimate atmosphere to
foster those relationships. Instead of being swallowed up by large crowds rushing
from one session to the next, ORX has an intimate number of attendees and ven-
dors — typically between 350 and 500 attendees and 60 to 80 vendors — making it
easy to meet and mingle.
We can't promise you that OR Excellence will be better than the last surgical
conference you went to, but we absolutely guarantee you that it'll be different.
Come feel the difference.
