Every day, our cafe- teria makes a large batch of chicken noodle soup and packages it in quart- size to-go contain- ers. The soup is then delivered to the out- patient surgery department, where it is stored in a refrigerator. When a patient is ready for discharge, the nurse packages the soup in an easy-to-carry bag with a card that details the program. So far, our patients love it. We want them to feel cared for both at the hospital and while they're home, and this is just one small, easy way to do that.
