S
crubs have a
habit of walking
out of a facility.
To keep from having
to continually buy
replacements, our hos-
pital has outfitted the
nurses and techs in
the surgical depart-
ment with 4 scrub
shirts, 4 scrub pants
and 1 warm-up jacket,
and each garment has
the staff member's
first name embroi-
dered on it. We're all responsible for our scrubs, for dropping them off
into the designated linen service hamper at the end of every day and
picking them up from the delivery to keep in our lockers. They're
black scrubs, so they're easily distinguished from the traditional green
ones our surgeons and anesthesia providers wear, and the names on
them make sure that our surgical staffers don't get them mixed up
and always have an available set to wear.
