For some cases, though, such as cataract or retina surgery, you need to pull 10 or 12 different medications. Instead of making our nurses type in each one, one at a time, we've sim- plified the process. We've programmed menu and preference settings into the system. Now we just have to pick a physician's name from a list, then pick from a list of procedures that he does, and the system will select all the drugs used in that procedure, without us having to type them in separately. It's a big time-saver.
