THINKING OF BUYING …
POWER TOOL TIPS
Factor these features into your power tool purchase:
• Reprocessing requirements.
Is your central sterile department
equipped to properly clean, decontaminate and sterilize all of its mov-
ing parts? Is the tool easy to disassemble and reassemble?
• Programmable settings.
A tool's speed is how many revolutions or
cycles bits and blades make in a certain amount of time. Its torque is
how much force they exert. Surgeons want different combinations of
the 2 variables for different cases.
• Ergonomic ease.
A lightweight tool that fits the surgeon's hand will pro-
vide more control, reduce fatigue and deliver
better results.
