Ideas That Work: The Tegaderm Stretch Don't Peel Off the Tegaderm - Stretch It There's so much focus on painless IV starts, but what about the hurt patients feel when you remove the Tegaderm once you've discontinued the IV? Use your dominant hand to stretch the Tegaderm out and pull up while stabilizing the hub of the IV catheter with your non-dominant hand. Kendall Stinnett, RN SKIN-SAVER Instead of peeling off the Tegaderm, stretch it.
