Roll Back the Patient
If You See a Green Hand
T
o let everyone know whether the
patient in pre-op is complete and ready
to go back to the OR, we keep 2 laminated paper hands pasted to a tongue depressor at bedside. The green hand means the
patient's ready to be rolled back. The red
hand means something's still pending, like
maybe a signature on a consent or the check
of a lab value.
