Color-Coded Carts Keep Supplies Separated
W
e have multiple ortho systems at our hospital, so vendors were taking up
much of our supply room space with carts full of their supplies. That also
meant nurses were struggling to find free carts to
pick cases with, and tensions were mounting between the
groups. Jason Whitley, RN, came up with a simple and effective
solution: Carts topped with blue tape are reserved for vendors,
and carts topped with yellow tape are for staff only. A blue
tapeline keeps the storage areas divided, and staff and vendors
happy.
