BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
crevices that you didn't even know were there. (If it could wipe itself
down between patients, that would be great, too.)
• An invisible fence, like the kind they use for dogs, except this
one's installed around the surgical suite to keep surgeons and anesthesia providers inside the perimeter so they don't wander off to whoknows-where when they're wanted in their assigned rooms to start
the next procedure on time.
• And last but not least, something for the surgeons. If there's room in
your bag, Santa, please bring hands-free, voice-activated cell phone
headsets for all the physicians, so they can answer their own phone
calls and text messages during cases.
I know it's a lot to ask for, but we have been very good all year long,
and work in surgical operating rooms helping to fix up everyone,
whether they've been naughty or nice. Happy holidays and a bright
new year to you. OSM
