Q How can facilities get help? A Invite a representative from your local Center for Independent Living to walk around your facility. These centers are run by and for people with disabilities and offer a broad range of services to empower and enable people to stay in the community. Don't be afraid to talk to your patients with disability. People with disability are practical. We have to be. It would be nice if we could make the earth flat and paved with asphalt, but we know we can't change some basic facts about the world. We will not ask for things that are not reality-based.
